NEWLY FOUND MIDDLE PERSIAN INSCRIPTIONS
 OF ĀMĀRGAR DARIUŠ IN DERBENT

Until recently, 32 Middle Persian inscriptions documenting the construction of Derbent defensive complex and dating from very end 560s. AD were known. Now has been replenished with two more - No. 33 34, opened by authors in 2016 2021, respectively. Inscription is located between towers 18 19 northern city wall central part curtain, at a height 1.5 m. It poor preservation. But, nevertheless, its text restored preserved fragments letters analogy other similar content. The inscription three-line, vertical. Reconstructible text: [Da]r[iuš ī] Ā[durbādagān] ām[ārgar]. 34 14 15 wall, 2.15-2.6 vertical, separate parts are preserved, reconstructed according to surviving analogies inscriptions. Its reads: Dari[u]š ī [Ādurbādag]ān ām[ā]rgar.
 Both composed on behalf āmārgar – high official, chief financier tax inspector vast Adurbadagan area, which during reign Shahanshah Khosrow I Anushirvan (531-579) included not only proper, but all Caucasian possessions Sasanian Iran up Derbent. newly discovered belong subgroup b, group 1 Derbent, represents Dariush.
